TAMeLi - Teacher Academy for Media Literacy in Europe

The Institute of Social Studies at the University of Tartu is a partner in the Teacher Academy for Media Literacy in Europe (TAMeLi), a European collaboration that aims to strengthen media literacy education by supporting both current and future teachers.

The project brings together universities, schools, teacher educators, journalists and educational organisations to develop knowledge, teaching methods and practical resources that help children and young people navigate today's digital information environment critically, responsibly and confidently. The initiative particularly addresses the challenges created by digital media, artificial intelligence and information disorders.

About the project

TAMeLi is a European Teacher Academy that promotes cooperation between higher education institutions and educational partners across Europe. By combining academic research with classroom practice, the project seeks to improve how media literacy is taught in teacher education and schools.

The project also contributes to strengthening democratic resilience by helping educators support critical thinking, responsible media use and informed participation in society.
