Third research seminar at the Institute of Social Studies

The third seminar at the Institute of Social Studies will take place on 24 November at 14:15 in Room 207, Lossi 36. The event will be held in English.

The seminar features presentations by members of the military sociology research group.

Dr Eleri Lillemäe will introduce the draft of her postdoctoral project "Future Imaginaries and Security Choices: Societal Attitudes and Strategic Narratives in Estonia and Germany" (reviewer: Prof Eyal Ben-Ari).

Doctoral student Kristjan Silm will present the article “Civic Resilience in a Frontline Country: A Study of Estonia’s Defence League Volunteers” (reviewers: doctoral student Sigrid Aas and Prof Eyal Ben-Ari). The article is co-authored with Dr Tiia-Triin Truusa.

Within the framework of the seminar series, doctoral researchers of the institute will present the academic articles that they are currently working on. Each seminar will have a thematic focus, either centred on a specific topic or dedicated to the research of the doctoral students from of one the institute's research groups.

The format is built upon the former doctoral seminars, but is now open to all interested participants!
